2020 Ohio Tax Policy Legislative Update - April 17, 2020

Updated: Apr 17, 2020

We hope you and your families are doing well and staying healthy during this difficult time. As 2020 comes to a ‘pause’ during this COVID-19 pandemic, it gives us time to look back at many of the tax policies that are still moving through the legislative process. Please click the link above for a summary report on the status of all the tax legislation (and then some) that has passed thus far and/or is currently pending before the Ohio General Assembly.

The pandemic has drastically impacted our health care system, as well as our economy! The Legislature will come back to Columbus sometime in the near future to pass some more much needed legislative priorities, mainly to resolve some budget shortfalls (declining tax revenues, coupled with additional spending) as a result of the Coronavirus and for the need to get our economy back up and running again. When it does return, we anticipate more legislative “fixes”, in order to get Ohio back on track to where we were before the crisis. Many of these bills will be moving, along with new priority language included. It will be very important to watch this closely, and please rest assured we will be involved and monitoring this all along the way.

Please let us know if you have any questions on any of these pieces of legislation or if we can be of assistance on any matter, now or anytime during the legislative process. ZHF stands by ready to assist at any point in time.

We look forward to continuing working with you. If you have any questions, please reach out to either Tom Zaino or Rich Bitonte. In the meantime, please stay healthy and safe. Thanks!
